Ocarina of Time Switch 2 files hint at possible Master Quest DLC
Dataminers found references to Master Quest in the Switch 2 remake of Ocarina of Time.
The discovery has led to speculation that Nintendo could add the mode as downloadable content, but the company has not announced plans to do so.
Master Quest is a harder version of the classic game, first released as a bonus with some copies of The Wind Waker on GameCube.
It was also included in the 3DS remake, but it was missing when the Switch 2 remake launched.
The finding suggests the mode may be planned for later, though references in game files do not confirm it will be released.
Nintendo producer Eiji Aonuma has left open the possibility of post-launch additions, saying developers should be able to consider what might come in the future.
The remake is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, and any next step depends on a Nintendo announcement.

What people are saying
So certainly anytime that we release a game, if there’s an opportunity for the devs to consider what might come in the future, we want to leave that possibility open to them and support their interests,

[Ocarina of Time] #ootspoilers There is data in the game files for Master Quest. It will be unlocked by *owning DLC* - it is not just an update. The data is incomplete, but I can confirm that the world is mirrored and dungeons are modified (e.g. cows in Jabu-Jabu's Belly).
