Marion Cotillard says no 2027 candidate currently appeals to her

Marion Cotillard says no candidate appeals to her ahead of France’s 2027 presidential election.

In an interview published on 18 October, the actor said the country’s political landscape makes her sad.

She believes political extremes cannot take power in France, though she did not name a preferred candidate.

Cotillard also said the way France treats young people is alarming and reflects problems in society.

Her concern comes as her son has recently started high school, and she spoke about current youth mobilisations.

Cotillard made the comments while promoting *Karma*, a film starring her and directed by her former partner, Guillaume Canet.

The film is due in cinemas on 21 October 2026; the election is scheduled for 2027.
