Tax officials find under-reported land deals in Karnataka worth over Rs 300 crore

Some land buyers recorded only part of the price in registered sale deeds.

The rest was paid under separate, unregistered agreements, according to tax officials.

This can reduce stamp duty and leave some payments outside tax records.

The officials estimate the deals involve more than Rs 300 crore and have alerted Karnataka’s registration department.
