Türkiye discusses trade targets with Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan

Türkiye's trade minister met officials from Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to discuss closer economic ties.

The meetings took place in Ankara as the countries prepare for a summit of the Organization of Turkic States.

Türkiye and Azerbaijan aim to raise annual trade to $15 billion, while Türkiye and Uzbekistan have a $5 billion target.

Talks covered expanding existing preferential trade agreements and developing joint projects in trade and transport.

The countries also want to increase and diversify mutual investment, which Bolat said totals $38 billion between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

The targets are part of plans set by the countries' presidents to deepen economic cooperation.

Bolat said the work would continue, including negotiations to broaden the trade agreements.
