Antonio Fuoco takes pole for Ferrari at Monza WEC finale
Antonio Fuoco put Ferrari on pole for the World Endurance Championship finale at Monza, Italy.
Driving the #50 Ferrari 499P, the Italian set the fastest time in Saturday’s qualifying.
His lap was just ahead of Mathieu Jaminet’s Genesis, with Earl Bamber’s Cadillac third.
Qualifying followed mostly wet practice sessions, so teams had little dry running before the shootout.
Neither Toyota reached Hyperpole, even though the two Toyota cars are the only ones still competing for the drivers’ title.
In the LMGT3 class, Lexus also took pole at the final race for its RC F GT3 before it is replaced next season.
The Monza 6 Hours starts Sunday at 11:00 local time.
