Swiss Juso plans youth strike rallies for November 20
Swiss Juso representatives joined protests in Paris on Saturday, where demonstrations escalated into serious unrest.
The representatives included Juso vice-president Julien Berthod and Neuchâtel Juso board member Antonin Fournier.
They attended a meeting of groups from more than ten countries to plan an international youth strike, and say their presence at the Paris demonstration was coincidental.
Juso is coordinating rallies in several Swiss cities for November 20, with local groups organising them independently.
Berthod says the strike will oppose militarisation and austerity in Europe, and he does not expect unrest in Switzerland.
More than 1,200 people were arrested in France during the weekend protests, but Switzerland's foreign ministry says it has no information about Swiss people being arrested or injured.
Further demonstrations are planned in France next weekend, while the Swiss rallies are set for November 20.
