Netflix documentary includes FBI agent’s account of Joran van der Sloot
A new Netflix series revisits Natalee Holloway’s 2005 disappearance in Aruba and includes interviews with her mother, friends, FBI agents and an Aruban police chief.
Former FBI agent Alexandra Montilla says Joran van der Sloot told her he tore off a rabbit’s head after it scratched his daughter while he was imprisoned in Peru.
Montilla says he continued talking without showing emotion, a reaction she found deeply disturbing.
Van der Sloot confessed in 2023 to killing Holloway, an 18-year-old American, but her body has never been found.
He has never been convicted of Holloway’s murder and is serving a 28-year prison sentence in Peru for killing Stephany Flores in 2010.
Holloway’s mother, Beth, is seeking to have him prosecuted over her daughter’s death.
Dutch prosecutors are examining whether prosecution is possible after Beth filed a complaint in the Netherlands.
