São Paulo court ends R$11,200 elevator debt case against Anita Harley
A São Paulo court ended a debt case against Anita Harley, the main individual shareholder of retailer Casas Pernambucanas.
Elevator company TK Elevadores had sought about R$11,200 for unpaid maintenance fees linked to contracts signed in 2019 and 2023.
Harley has been in a coma or vegetative state since a stroke in 2016.
A court-appointed representative argued that Harley was incapable when the contracts were signed, and the judge accepted that argument.
The court said the case did not meet the legal requirements to proceed against a person unable to answer for her actions.
TK Elevadores must pay legal costs and fees as well as the case being dismissed.
The dispute over who can manage Harley's care and fortune continues, but no next step in this debt case was stated.
A São Paulo court ended a case seeking about R$11,200 from Anita Harley for unpaid elevator-maintenance fees.
The case was brought by TK Elevadores, which filed a collection action against Harley in November 2025.
Judge Flavia Poyares Miranda ruled on October 5 that the case could not proceed because Harley was legally incapacitated when the contracts were signed.
