Bangbae Police Station moves into new building after eight years in temporary offices

Bangbae Police Station in Seoul is moving into a newly built headquarters from October 19 to 25.

The move comes 35 years after the station opened in 1991.

It had used an old building belonging to Gwanak Police Station, which was built in 1976 and had become cramped and worn.

The station moved to rented temporary offices in 2018 while a replacement was built on its original site.

The old building had flooded and subsided, causing problems for visitors and staff.

Departments are moving on different days, and each department will be unavailable on its moving day.

People can file notices of public gatherings at the temporary office through October 22, then at the new headquarters from 9 a.m.

on October 23.
