Mario Marín to attend October 20 hearing in Lydia Cacho torture case
Former Puebla governor Mario Marín is due at a hearing on October 20 in a case involving journalist Lydia Cacho.
Cacho says Marín ordered her detention and torture in 2005 after she published a book about a child sexual exploitation network with alleged business and political links.

The case has lasted 21 years, and Cacho says she is seeking justice not only for herself and her family but also for children and Mexican society.
Marín remains in a maximum-security prison, while an ex-police commander accused of taking part in the torture was recently released after a judge ruled he had served his sentence.
Cacho plans to attend the hearing with her lawyers; the sources do not say what decision the court is expected to make.
