Jakarta Air Quality Rated Unhealthy, With PM2.5 at 87.8 µg/m³

At 11 a.m.

on Oct.

14, 2026, IQAir rated Jakarta’s air unhealthy at 174 on the US AQI scale.

The main pollutant was PM2.5, measured at 87.8 µg/m³, but the reading was only a snapshot and could change during the day.

PM2.5 refers to very small particles in the air, while AQI turns pollution measurements into an index and category.

Indonesia also uses its own air-quality index, ISPU, so its numbers cannot be directly equated with US AQI readings.

Different monitoring stations, locations and update times can also explain why apps show different figures; one government portal reading cited for Ancol was from Oct.

12, not Oct.

14.

The figures help people judge air conditions, but a citywide reading may not match the air at a particular home or street.

People can check updates through Udara Jakarta, IQAir, BMKG and the environment ministry’s ISPU service, and reduce strenuous outdoor activity when air quality is poor; a well-fitting N95 may be considered if travel is necessary.
