Michael Douglas says he understands why Catherine Zeta-Jones will skip his memoir

Michael Douglas says he is fine with his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, choosing not to read his new memoir, One Helluva Ride.

Zeta-Jones said she has no intention of reading about her husband when she is tired, though she encouraged other people to read the book.

Douglas discussed her decision on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

He said their 25-year age gap means he had a life before they met, and that she may not want to read about it.

The memoir describes his affair with actor Kathleen Turner while they filmed the 1984 movie Romancing the Stone.

Douglas was married to his first wife, Diandra Luker, at the time, and he says he and Turner denied the relationship for decades.

He also writes about an affair with Jeanne Tripplehorn and a brief split from Zeta-Jones in 2013.

Zeta-Jones and Douglas married in 2000, and she has said she does not plan to read the memoir.
