Train collision in Egypt kills four and injures 88

Two trains collided in Giza province, south of Cairo, on Sunday.

A train travelling to Fayoum hit the rear of a train heading to Aswan, according to authorities.

Four passengers were killed and 88 injured, with the wounded taken to nearby hospitals.

Several carriages derailed, and emergency crews and cranes were sent to clear the wreckage.

Egypt's president ordered a prompt investigation to identify those responsible.

The railway authority said it was working to restore train services to their normal schedule.

A freight-train collision also occurred in the same district last September, injuring two railway workers.
