Crash on A29 toward Rotterdam causes delays of up to an hour

Two vehicles collided on the A29 toward Rotterdam on Monday morning, near Vaanplein.

The crash happened at about 6:30 between the Numansdorp exit and Vaanplein junction.

Two lanes were closed while both damaged vehicles awaited removal.

Traffic from the south faced delays of up to an hour, which later fell to about 50 minutes.

A suggested detour via the A16 did not save travel time, and a long queue was still reported around 8:00.

The road has since reopened, though the cause of the crash is not known.
