Steam adds achievement sets for games and downloadable content

Valve is adding achievement sets to Steam to organize game achievements into separate groups.

The feature covers a game's main version and its downloadable content, with sets created by developers.

Players still earn achievements through normal play, but Steam will group them when players view what they have unlocked.

Each set has its own progress bar and completion trophy that can appear on a player's profile.

Developers can also create seasonal sets and archive them, allowing for temporary or holiday achievements.

Several games already support the feature, including Portal 2, Team Fortress 2 and Forza Horizon 5.

The updated achievements features are in Steam's latest client beta, and Valve is also refreshing the achievements page to show overall and set-by-set progress.

We think there are a lot of fun ways games can take advantage of the temporary nature this can add, such as adding achievements to season-based games or enabling time-limited holiday achievements
