Gunmen fire on Culiacán fairground; no injuries reported

Gunmen fired at the Culiacán livestock fairground in Sinaloa, Mexico, on Monday morning.

Sinaloa’s security department said no one was injured, and no arrests had been reported.

The attack prompted a security operation, while investigators collected evidence at the site.

The gunfire came hours before a protest over unpaid ticket refunds for the 2024 Palenque event, which was cancelled.

Authorities have not confirmed any link between the protest and the attack.

The shooting also took place as ticket sales began for the Palenque Culiacán 2026, scheduled for November 12 to 29.

Officials said the investigation is under way to identify those responsible, and it was not yet known whether the attack would affect the planned shows.
