Stolen ¥46 million watch returned to Tokyo store with apology

A ¥46 million Audemars Piguet watch was returned to the Tokyo store it was stolen from.

The Swiss-made watch was taken on Oct.

A man posing as a customer tried it on and left wearing it after spending less than 10 minutes in the store.

On Nov.

1, the shop received the watch by courier from Aichi Prefecture, along with a handwritten note apologizing for the theft.

Its identification number matched the stolen watch, and investigators found no significant damage.

Police suspect the sender’s name and address may have been fictitious.
