Street Fighter (2026) Pays Tribute to Raul Julia’s M. Bison

Kitao Sakurai’s new Street Fighter includes tributes to Raul Julia, who played M. Bison in the 1994 film.

Julia’s portrayal of the video game villain was widely remembered, and the role was his final feature film.

In the new movie, David Dastmalchian plays M. Bison, while Callina Liang plays Chun-Li.

One tribute is a grand painting in Bison’s office, similar to the portrait in Julia’s film that showed the character like Napoleon.

The other is a changed version of Bison’s famous line, “For you, today is the day that you die.

But for me ...

it’s Tuesday.”

In the 1994 film, Bison used the line to dismiss Chun-Li’s anger over her father’s death.

The new version recalls Julia’s cold, arrogant delivery and connects the two films.

The new Street Fighter is in theaters now.
