Priyadarshan doubts Hera Pheri 3 will ever be made

Director Priyadarshan says he doubts Hera Pheri 3 will ever be made.

He cited numerous complications around the third film in the Indian comedy franchise, but did not explain them in detail.

Priyadarshan has stepped away from the project, adding to uncertainty about its future.

The film has also faced controversy after Paresh Rawal briefly left and later agreed to return; the first account says Akshay Kumar sent him a reported ₹25 crore legal notice.

Priyadarshan also declined to direct Bhagam Bhaag 2, a sequel to his 2006 comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Govinda.

He says he will only direct a sequel if he has a story that improves on the original.

He believes sequels should offer a better story, rather than rely on the success of the first film.

No next step for Hera Pheri 3 is given, and Priyadarshan says he does not think it will be made.
