Indonesian preacher gives 90-minute sermon from a covered grave

At a regular religious gathering in Konawe Selatan, Indonesia, preacher Gus Faruq gave a sermon from inside a grave.

The event took place at Nahdlatul Ulum Islamic boarding school on Sunday, November 1.

Before the sermon, Faruq was wrapped in a burial shroud and placed in a grave in a ceremony resembling a funeral.

The grave was covered with boards and soil, with a mound and gravestone placed above it.

An organiser who attended said there was no air hole, and only a microphone cable came out of the grave.

Faruq spoke throughout the burial-like ceremony, from being wrapped in the shroud until the grave was opened again.

The full ceremony lasted about 90 minutes, according to the organiser.
