Gestamp’s January-September profit rises 35.5%, helped by currency movements
Spanish auto-parts maker Gestamp earned €141 million in the first nine months, up 35.5% from the same period a year earlier.
More favourable currency movements helped lift profit, even though the company’s sales and operating earnings changed little.
Gestamp reported €8.43 billion in sales, down 0.6%, and operating earnings of €936 million, up 1.2%.
Sales fell in the United States and Mexico and in Asia, while growth in Mercosur and Eastern Europe helped offset those declines.
Debt fell to €1.91 billion, its lowest level for this period since Gestamp went public in 2017.
The results leave Gestamp’s 2026 targets unchanged, including an EBITDA margin above 11.7% and an operating cash-flow conversion ratio near 35%.
Gestamp reported net profit of €141 million for January to September, up 35.5% from a year earlier.
Revenue was €8.432 billion, down 0.6% year on year, while EBITDA rose 1.19% to €936 million.
The company attributed much of the profit increase to more favourable currency movements, rather than stronger underlying activity.
