Visa moves USDC funding for international transfers into commercial use

Visa has moved USDC pre-funding for international transfers into commercial use through its Visa Direct service.

The first partner is Inyo Global, a payment platform serving banks, fintech companies and money-transfer businesses.

Its clients can use USDC to fund cross-border payments almost in real time, including outside banking hours.

USDC is used to fund the transactions, not necessarily to pay the final recipients.

Inyo offers the feature through its existing APIs, and its Visa Direct platform supports transfers in more than 180 countries, subject to regional limits.

Visa began testing stablecoin pre-funding and payouts in 2025, and this launch takes the service beyond its pilot stage.

The change gives participating businesses another way to fund payments and manage cash for international transfers.
