Former Perm district chief sentenced to 16 years in prison

A military court in Perm sentenced former district chief Dmitry Drobинин to 16 years in prison for bribery and theft.

The court said he was guilty of bribing a Defense Ministry employee and stealing 2 million rubles from a fellow serviceman’s bank card while in a military operations zone.

He was also fined 15 million rubles and barred from certain government and local authority jobs for 10 years.

Drobинин denied guilt, and prosecutors had sought a 19-year sentence.

The new sentence was combined with an earlier conviction, for which he received a four-year term for fraud and bribery connected to his time as a district chief.

He worked in government roles for more than 20 years and led Perm’s Industrial District from 2021 to 2024.

He can appeal the sentence to a military court in Yekaterinburg.
