Nissan Sakura offers more range and speed than Mexico’s Olinia Uno

Mexico’s Olinia Uno costs 150,000 pesos, while Japan’s Nissan Sakura is listed at 293,832 pesos before a subsidy.

The comparison says the subsidy brings the Sakura’s price to 224,232 pesos, though it does not explain how buyers in Mexico would access that support.

The Sakura can travel up to 180 kilometres and reach 130 km/h, compared with more than 100 kilometres and a 50 km/h limit for the Olinia.

The Olinia can carry up to six people, while the Sakura seats four.

The Sakura also has a 360-degree camera, heated front seats and steering wheel, and outlets that can power appliances; the Olinia is designed to carry a wheelchair user with the driver and another passenger.

The two vehicles offer different trade-offs: the Sakura has more range and speed, while the Olinia is cheaper and offers more passenger capacity.

The Olinia has undergone performance and range tests at laboratories of Mexico’s National Polytechnic Institute, but no further next steps are stated.
