Carlsberg Italia expands into zero-alcohol beer with Tuborg Zero Lemon

Carlsberg Italia has launched Tuborg Zero Lemon, a zero-alcohol beer made in Italy.

The company says its brewers developed the recipe at its brewery in Induno Olona, in the province of Varese.

Beer consumption per person in Italy rose by more than 20% over the past decade, from about 30 litres in 2014 to 36 litres in 2025.

Carlsberg says premium beers and changing lifestyles are shaping demand, including interest in wellbeing and more conscious social occasions.

The company says these trends are broadening beer choices rather than replacing traditional consumption.

Carlsberg Italia is Italy’s third-largest beer producer, with more than 1.1 million hectolitres produced.

It plans to keep adapting its range to consumer demand, while its Induno Olona brewery is due to mark its 150th anniversary in 2027.
