Saudi-led delegation holds regional de-escalation talks in Tehran

Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman led a delegation to Tehran for talks with Iranian officials.

The delegation included senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye, countries that are members of the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement.

The meeting was described as the first direct engagement with Iran since the pact was signed in August.

The discussions aim to reduce regional tensions and promote diplomatic solutions to the ongoing crisis.

Qatar and Pakistan are also involved in mediation efforts, and Iranian officials said the meeting could help shape regional diplomacy.

The talks come amid fears of renewed conflict between the United States and Iran, though both military action and diplomacy have been discussed.

The visit is intended to support dialogue and regional security, but no specific next steps were announced.
