‘Las hijas de la criada’ secures TV deals in five European countries

Atresmedia has secured deals to show ‘Las hijas de la criada’ in five European countries.

The Spanish series will air in Portugal, Ireland, Finland, Romania and Croatia through local broadcasters.

The drama adapts a novel by Sonsoles Ónega, which won the Planeta Prize.

It stars Verónica Sánchez, Carlota Baró and Alain Hernández.

In Spain, it had atresplayer’s best launch in three years and was the most-watched Spanish prime-time series on Antena 3 in September, according to Atresmedia.

The new deals extend the series beyond Spain and give it a chance to reach more viewers.

Selling rights abroad can also create further income, although Atresmedia has not disclosed the value of the deals or how much the series has earned.

The series is set to reach audiences in the five new markets, but the sources give no broadcast dates.
