State of Mexico reports higher revenue without new taxes
Finance Secretary Óscar Flores Jiménez presented the State of Mexico’s results to local lawmakers for the third year of Governor Delfina Gómez’s administration.
The state reported 362 billion pesos in total central-sector revenue, up 15% from the previous year.
Officials said better tax collection and simpler procedures helped raise revenue without creating new taxes.
The state also said it offered 28 tax incentives that saved residents and businesses about 9 billion pesos, and took on no new public debt in three years while reducing the amount owed by about 2.5 billion pesos.
Public works received nearly 20 billion pesos in 2026, while social programs received close to 70 billion pesos over the administration’s first three years.
These figures matter because the government says stronger revenue and debt management freed money for public services and projects.
