Wrexham fined £75,000 for fielding two ineligible players
Wrexham have been fined £75,000 by the English Football League after two players were ineligible for matches this season.
The issue involved Issa Kaboré, who played against Birmingham City on 28 August, and Callum O’Hare, who was named as a substitute against Millwall on 2 September.
Kaboré’s documents were not submitted correctly, while O’Hare’s registration was not completed in time after he joined from Sheffield United.
O’Hare did not play, but both cases were treated as breaches of player eligibility rules.
A quarter of the fine is suspended, meaning £25,000 will not have to be paid unless the terms of the decision require it.
