Patriots place Romeo Doubs on injured reserve with shoulder injury

The New England Patriots placed receiver Romeo Doubs on injured reserve on Monday after he hurt his right shoulder against the New York Jets.

Doubs was injured while making a diving 42-yard touchdown catch in New England’s 26-19 win on Sunday, then left the game.

He has 14 catches, 261 yards and three touchdowns this season, his first with the Patriots.

The move means he will miss at least four games, starting with Thursday’s visit to the Chicago Bears.

The Patriots had just welcomed A.J. Brown back from injured reserve on Saturday, after he missed time with a high right ankle sprain.

New England had brought Brown and Doubs in this offseason to give quarterback Drake Maye two top receivers, but the team’s injury problems continue across several positions.
