FCC chair says he would defer to Hegseth on airing Fort Hood shooter’s execution
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has said people should be able to watch the planned execution of Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009.
It is unclear whether the Pentagon plans to stream it online or have television stations broadcast it.
FCC Chair Brendan Carr said he would leave the decision to Hegseth and did not see a role for the FCC if it is not shown on broadcast TV.
A broadcast would be unprecedented in the United States.
