Google launches $180 Fitbit Edge between its Air tracker and Pixel Watch 5
Google has launched the Fitbit Edge for $180, placing it between the $99 Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5, which starts at $399.
The Air is a screenless tracker focused on health monitoring, while the Pixel Watch 5 is a full smartwatch with apps and other interactive features.
The Edge adds a small display for things like the time, calls, notifications and health stats.
Google says it can last up to seven days on a charge, and it includes GPS and ECG support.
One reviewer sees it as a useful middle ground for people who want basic smartwatch features without a larger device or daily charging.
Another argues it falls awkwardly between the Air and Pixel Watch 5, without the Air’s simplicity or the Pixel Watch’s broader tools.
The different assessments leave open whether the Edge will find a lasting place in Google’s wearable range.
