Equipment fault cuts power to parts of Dinslaken for 45 minutes
A power outage hit parts of Bruch in Dinslaken, Germany, at about 9 p.m.
on Tuesday, October 13.
A fault in a medium-voltage switchgear unit caused the interruption, according to the Dinslaken municipal utility.
The fault affected 22 transformer stations and streets between the B8 road and Katharinenstraße.
Residents reported a loud bang and smoke near a transformer station on Wilmastraße, where a fire was reported.
The utility said the fault was not caused from outside.
Power was restored to all affected homes within 45 minutes by utility workers.
The damaged transformer station is to be replaced in the long term, though no timing was given.
