SNCF sets higher punctuality targets for Paris-area trains through 2030
SNCF Voyageurs and Île-de-France Mobilités have agreed a new contract for Paris-area trains through 2030.
It covers RER and Transilien services in the Île-de-France region, where repeated works and ageing trains have affected service.
The plan sets aside €7.2 billion to modernise trains and equipment, including money for new trains, repairs and maintenance facilities.
The punctuality target for the RER B rises from 89% in 2026 to 90% in 2027, with further increases planned through 2030.
Targets also rise for several other lines, and new trains are expected to improve reliability on the RER B.
Île-de-France Mobilités will use weekly and monthly figures to track service, while passenger compensation rules remain in place for prolonged disruption.
