Nintendo reveals team behind Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2
Nintendo revealed the team behind its Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 in a new developer interview.
The game was made internally by Nintendo's EPD Production Group No.
3, which has handled nearly every Zelda entry since the early 2000s.
Producer Eiji Aonuma said he wanted the remake to give younger developers new insights.
The team had freedom to make more changes, but Aonuma said he was surprised by how few changes they made.
The interviews also share details about the game's development.
Nintendo has released the first two parts of the interview series, with no further release plans stated.
Nintendo’s Ocarina of Time remake is set to launch on November 5, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2.
Producer Eiji Aonuma said younger developers, some of whom had never played the original, helped shape the remake.
Aonuma said he wanted the remake to prompt new insights that could inform future Zelda games.
He also said he asked the team to add fast-travel points, then had them removed after they reduced opportunities for discovery.
The remake will include a dedicated sprint button, and players can find Epona at Lon Lon Ranch.

What people are saying
I asked the team to add warp points that didn’t exist in the original game, giving players access to shortcuts.
So even though I was the one who proposed adding warp points, they just weren't working for me in the end, so I got the team to take them all back out again.
It's thanks to these young people, by thinking about how to adapt the game in the best possible way, how to make it fun once you have the controls in your hands, that this remake came into being.
