Search continues for missing emergency worker in Altai Republic

Emergency worker Igor Bolshakov remains missing in Russia’s Altai Republic after leaving for an apiary on October 17.

The 39-year-old was expected home that evening and did not report for work the next day.

Relatives found his empty UAZ vehicle on October 18 in the Ak-Kaya area, about 26 kilometres from the village of Chemal.

Rescuers, police and volunteers are searching the surrounding area, but have not found him.

Teams have searched 10 square kilometres on foot and 21 square kilometres using a drone.

At least 42 people and 10 vehicles are involved, with another 18 people and six vehicles sent to assist.

The search is continuing, and a psychologist is supporting Bolshakov’s wife.
