Beer truck overturns at Empel junction, closing road toward Waalwijk

A beer truck overturned at the Empel junction near Den Bosch on Sunday afternoon.

The crash closed the road from the A2, coming from Utrecht, toward the A59 and Waalwijk.

The driver was lightly injured and taken to hospital for checks.

The cause of the crash was not clear.

Crews were transferring the beer to another truck, while the road also had asphalt damage and an oil spill affected the roadside.

Traffic could turn around at the Rosmalen-West exit.

Rijkswaterstaat expected the road toward Waalwijk to reopen later that evening.
