Pizza Hut Japan adds lower-priced pizza as inflation squeezes diners

Pizza Hut Japan launched a three-cheese meat-sauce pizza on November 2.

The new pizza is inspired by lasagna and uses the company’s homemade meat sauce.

Its single-person Pizza Pot Box set costs 500 yen, while takeaway pizzas cost 880 yen for a small, 1,300 yen for a medium and 1,890 yen for a large.

The company is adding more affordable choices as rising prices affect customers’ spending.

Its lower-priced pizzas, including the Pizza Hut Margherita, have been among its best sellers, and the company hopes more affordable options will encourage customers to visit more often.

Pizza Hut says it wants the new pizza to become one of its core regular items.
