Romo Football Club coach arrested after four complaints involving minors

Police in Getxo, Spain, arrested a 30-year-old man after four complaints alleging sexual offences against minors.

The man is a coach at Romo Football Club, which confirmed his role.

The complaints were made to the Basque police, known as the Ertzaintza, and the allegations are under investigation.

The arrested man had no previous record with the Ertzaintza, according to the Basque security department.

Romo Football Club has started its child-protection protocol and says it will cooperate with the investigation.

The club also urged people not to spread rumours or speculation that could harm the minors involved or the suspect.

Police are checking whether there may be more victims, and the man is due to be brought before a judge once the required procedures are complete.
