World Infrastructure Forum to hold first edition in Madrid
World Infrastructure Forum organizers met Spain’s Chamber of Commerce president to explain the new initiative.
Its first edition is scheduled for Madrid on October 28 and 29, bringing together more than 350 leaders from over 30 countries.
The non-profit forum is jointly led by the MIT, the World Bank Group, the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the University of Texas at Austin.
Participants are expected to discuss infrastructure needs linked to artificial intelligence, energy, climate change and transport.
These challenges are increasingly connected, so the forum aims to bring together people and groups that often work separately.
The goal is to improve decisions about future infrastructure by connecting research, investment, business experience and public policy.
The organizers say the event will include leaders from academic, business, financial, technology and public sectors.
