Kim Kardashian closely fact-checked a new biography after five years of access
Kim Kardashian worked closely with author Jonathan Van Meter on a new biography about her life.
Van Meter spent five years interviewing her family, friends and childhood connections, with Kardashian’s permission and help.
She asked Anna Wintour to vouch for the author before agreeing to take part.
Kardashian received draft chapters to fact-check and returned them with handwritten corrections and notes.
Kanye West was not interviewed, although an interview had initially been planned.
The process matters because Kardashian had substantial input into a book examining her life and family, while the author also gathered accounts from people close to her.
The book covers her childhood and relationships, and Kris Jenner’s reaction to it was filmed for the current season of the Hulu show The Kardashians.
