Indonesia’s anti-corruption agency summons land minister as witness
Indonesia’s anti-corruption agency has summoned Land Minister Nusron Wahid to give evidence in a corruption investigation.
The KPK says it wants to question him as a witness to help complete the case files against suspects.
The summons is the second one issued to Nusron; he did not attend the previous appointment, and the agency had received no confirmation by Wednesday evening about whether he would attend this one.
The investigation concerns alleged bribery over building-use rights for property linked to PT Summarecon Agung and other alleged payments within the land ministry.
Eight people have been named as suspects, including ministry officials, a company executive and people the KPK describes as Nusron’s trusted associates.
The KPK says it caught 19 people and found 106.3 billion rupiah during a September operation in the Jakarta area.
The agency expects Nusron to attend and says questioning can proceed once he is present.
Indonesia’s anti-corruption agency scheduled land minister Nusron Wahid for questioning as a witness on October 15.
The questioning is intended to help complete a case file involving alleged corruption linked to land-use permits and other receipts at the land ministry.
It is the second summons for Wahid, who did not attend the previous week’s summons.
The agency said it had not received confirmation by the previous afternoon that he would attend.
The agency has named eight people as suspects and says it detained them after an operation in September.
