Stellar Blade comes to Switch 2 with strong combat and short battery life
Shift Up’s Stellar Blade arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 this week, bringing the action game to Nintendo’s newest console.
The game follows soldier Eve as she fights monsters called Naytibas in an effort to save humanity.
First released as a PlayStation 5 exclusive in April 2024, it later came to Windows PC in June 2025.
Its combat relies on sword combos, timed parries and dodges, and the game adds new skills as players progress.
The Switch 2 version looks good in handheld mode, though the game’s revealing outfits may make some players reluctant to play in public.
Battery life is about three hours on default settings with near-max brightness, limiting longer sessions away from a charger.
A sequel is on the way, but no further details about it are given.
