Mexican forces arrest five linked to Pacific Cartel in Sinaloa
Mexican National Guard and Army forces arrested five people in Sinaloa in two operations on October 16 and 17.
Four were arrested in El Rosario, and Jesús Abraham, known as “El Talibán,” was arrested in Mazatlán.
Authorities say the detainees are linked to the Pacific Cartel’s Los Chapitos faction and had weapons and tactical equipment.
Officials link them to the January kidnapping and killing of 10 mining company workers in La Concordia.
They are also linked to the February kidnapping of four tourists in Mazatlán.
The arrests followed intelligence work and came with support from three Mexican Air Force helicopters.
The detainees and seized items were handed to federal prosecutors in Culiacán, who will continue the investigation and determine their legal status.
