Prince Harry says he wants to reconcile with his family

Prince Harry says he wants to reconcile with his family, including his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William.

He made the comments in an interview with GQ, recorded in late September and released this week.

Harry and Meghan left the UK in 2020 and stepped back from royal duties in an acrimonious departure.

Harry's memoir, Spare, described the family rift and his damaged relationship with William.

He says he wants to build bridges, while noting that the past has left lasting scars; a spokesman said his comment that some people do not want reconciliation was not aimed at his family.

Harry also said being closer to family in the UK and giving his children a British school experience matter to him, but no specific next step toward reconciliation was announced.
