Four drones shot down over Russia’s Leningrad region

Authorities in Russia’s Leningrad region shot down four drones overnight and on the morning of October 16, Governor Alexander Drozdenko said.

An earlier update from the governor reported two drones down, while the later count was four.

The region declared a drone threat at 4:38 a.m.

Drozdenko said no targets remained in the sky and expected the air-danger alert to be lifted soon.

Airspace restrictions affected flights to Kaliningrad, according to Russia’s aviation authority.

The restrictions were imposed in some parts of the region, but the sources do not say how long they lasted.

The governor expected the alert to end soon, though no time for its cancellation was given.
