Powderfinger adds nine dates to reunion tour, including Canberra and Hobart

Australian band Powderfinger has added nine shows to its reunion tour after strong demand for its return.

The new dates include Canberra and Hobart, two venues not on the initial schedule.

The Brisbane band split in 2010, and its first 26 reunion-tour shows sold out, with 300,000 tickets gone in six days.

The band members say time apart helped them reconnect with each other and their music, and several wanted their children to see them perform.

The 36-date tour is due to begin in November 2027, with rehearsals starting this December.

The Canberra show is set for December 4 at Stage 88, with Violent Soho, Something for Kate and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers listed as support acts.

Tickets for the added dates go on sale in November 2026, with presales first and general sales through Ticketmaster.
