Ulju blueberry farmer wins South Korean agriculture minister’s award

Kim Na-jin won an agriculture minister’s award for fruit at a national produce fair in South Korea.

Kim grows blueberries on a farm in Seosaeng-myeon, Ulju, in the southeastern city of Ulsan.

The farm has 1,500 blueberry plants and produces about two tonnes a year.

Kim also makes processed products, including blueberry juice and compote.

The fair, held in Ulsan from October 31 to November 2, showcases quality produce from across the country.

Kim plans to link production with education, farm visits and sales, expanding the farm beyond growing and processing fruit.
