Heineken Brasil signs deal to buy Better Drinks

Heineken Brasil has signed an agreement to buy Better Drinks, the Brazilian beverage company behind Baer Mate, Mamba Water and Praya.

The companies did not disclose the price or other terms.

The purchase still needs competition authorities’ approval before it can be completed.

Heineken had already handled sales and distribution for Better Drinks’ brands through a partnership that began in 2024.

Better Drinks was formed in 2022 by bringing together four existing brands: Baer Mate, Praya, Vivant and F!VE Drinks.

After the partnership began, the brands’ distribution reach grew from 10,000 sales locations in 2024 to more than 60,000 in 2025, according to Heineken.

The deal would bring Better Drinks’ brands under Heineken Brasil, the Brazilian arm of the Dutch brewer, which sells brands including Heineken, Amstel and Sol.

The next step is a review by competition authorities, and the sources give no timeline for a decision.
