Indonesia Plans Rp 632 Trillion in Tax Incentives for 2027

Indonesia plans about Rp 632 trillion in tax incentives for 2027, allowing the government to collect less tax than usual.

Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara announced the estimate at a business meeting in Jakarta on Friday.

The planned total is higher than the Rp 576.4 trillion estimated for 2026.

The measures include a 0.5% final income-tax rate for eligible businesses with annual turnover below Rp 4.8 billion, with individual taxpayers exempt on turnover up to Rp 500 million.

The government also offers VAT relief and other tax benefits for sectors including manufacturing, public transport, education, health and construction.

The incentives are intended to support economic activity and household purchasing power, rather than only raise government revenue.

The government has not provided further details on the 2027 measures in the information available.

This is a form of tax support. So taxes are not only about collecting money, but also providing incentives to the economy.
